Why this subwoofer
Not a burst figure: 6000 W RMS is the power the voice coil handles continuously, with 12000 W of continuous program headroom on top.
An 18" subwoofer that stops at 19.6 kg net: the neodymium magnet keeps the weight off the baffle and out of the vehicle.
Two 2 ohm coils on a 4 inch former: you choose how to wire them to match your amplifier instead of the other way round.
Carbon fiber cone, high-roll foam surround, CCAW 4 layer winding on an aluminium former, 70 mm winding depth in a 35 mm gap: Xmax 17.5 mm, Bl 19.71.

Complete the system
Before you install it
- Decide the impedance before you wire it. Nominal impedance is 2 ohm + 2 ohm, two coils. Check that your amplifier is stable at the impedance you choose.
- Match the amplifier to 6000 W RMS. Sizing on the 12000 W program figure means overdriving the coil: use the RMS value.
- Check the cutout and the depth before you build. Overall diameter 470 mm, baffle cutout 429 mm, bolt circle 443-8--Φ6.5, mounting depth 337 mm: measure the enclosure first.
- Build the enclosure rigid. Thick panels, braced and sealed, or the box will lose output and rattle.
- Size the power cable for the amplifier, with an inline fuse close to the battery and a ground point on bare metal.
