Why this midrange
The whole point of this model: a shallow frame that clears window mechanisms and door bars where a standard 6.5" midrange hits. No spacer pod, no cut trim panel.
Sensitivity is the same as the standard version. At 96 dB a 100 W channel is already a lot of sound inside a car, so a small amplifier is enough.
30.5 mm / 1.2" EISV coil wound with 220 °C aluminium wire on a 25 Oz ferrite motor: slim does not mean weak on heat.
165 mm nominal, 4 ohm, M-ROLL polycotton surround: same cut-out as the factory speaker, just far less depth behind it.

Complete the system
Before you install it
- Measure the depth behind the hole. Slim solves most factory doors, but check the window glass at its lowest point before you close the panel.
- Do not go below 4 ohm per channel. Two speakers in parallel on one channel give 2 ohm: most amplifiers will heat up or go into protection.
- Use a high-pass filter. This is a midrange, not a woofer: cut below 100 Hz and let the subwoofer do the bass. Feeding it low notes is the fastest way to damage it.
- Seal the door panel. A shallow speaker has little volume behind it: sound-deaden the panel and you gain more than changing the speaker.
