Why this tweeter
An overall diameter of 55 mm and a depth of 25 mm, for 0.15 kg. It hides in a factory tweeter cutout, an A-pillar or a door sail panel without any surgery.
A neodymium motor gives the drive force in a fraction of the volume of a ferrite one. That is what keeps this tweeter 25 mm deep while it takes 120 W RMS.
98 dB of sensitivity from a 25 mm CCAW voice coil: aluminium wire is lighter than copper, so the coil follows the signal instead of dragging behind it.

Complete the system
Before you install it
- Never connect it straight to the amplifier. A tweeter always needs a crossover, or at the very least a capacitor in series. Full range on a tweeter destroys the voice coil in seconds.
- Cross it high, not low. With a 25 mm dome you stay in the top of the range. The mid-bass belongs to the midrange, the bass to the subwoofer.
- Do not go below 4 ohm per channel. The pair in parallel on one channel gives 2 ohm: most amplifiers will heat up or go into protection. One tweeter per channel is the safe way.
- Aim it, and set the gain low. A metal dome is directional, so point it at the listener; then bring the level up slowly. Clipping kills tweeters far more often than power does.
