An entry-level 12"/30 cm subwoofer built to be simple: single 4 ohm voice coil, 300 W RMS continuous, 600 W peak, 92.1 dB sensitivity. 50.5 mm (2") voice coil wound with 200 °C copper wire, black non-pressed paper cone, large "R" suspension. Two terminals, one impedance, a normal mono amplifier: the cheapest honest way to add real bass. Sold per unit.

Why this subwoofer
Not a burst figure: 300 W RMS is what the voice coil takes continuously, with 600 W of peak headroom. A normal mono amplifier is enough.
A single 4 ohm voice coil: two terminals, one wiring option, no impedance maths. Any mono amplifier stable at 4 ohm will drive it.
High sensitivity for this class: it gives real output without a large amplifier, which keeps both the budget and the car's electrical system happy.
314 mm nominal diameter with a black non-pressed paper cone and large "R" suspension: warm, clean low end for a first build. No SPL claims.

Complete the system
Before you install it
- Check the amplifier is stable at 4 ohm. This is a single 4 ohm coil: there is only one way to wire it, and the amplifier has to work at that load.
- Match the amplifier to 300 W RMS. Sizing on the 600 W peak figure means overdriving the coil: use the RMS value.
- Build the enclosure rigid and sealed. Thick, braced, airtight panels. The recommended volume is in the manual — an undersized or leaking box loses output and rattles.
- Size the power cable for the amplifier, with an inline fuse close to the battery and a ground point on bare metal.
