The MIDRANGE EXTREME line in the 8"/20 cm size: 98.2 dB, a 50 Oz ferrite motor, a 49.5 mm (2") CCAW voice coil and a solid aluminium phase plug. 224 cm² of cone and 250 W RMS of duty: the loud lane. Sold as a pair.

Why this midrange
On the same channel it plays noticeably louder than the best seller line, before you touch the gain. This is the 8" for SPL builds.
49.5 mm of copper-clad aluminium winding: more winding surface, more heat capacity, more minutes at full volume.
The biggest ferrite ring of the 8" family. More magnetic force means more control over the cone at high excursion.
A solid aluminium plug in the centre of the cone: it keeps the response clean off-axis and pulls heat away from the voice coil.

Complete the system
Before you install it
- Do not go below 4 ohm per channel. Two speakers in parallel on one channel give 2 ohm: most amplifiers will heat up or go into protection.
- Use a high-pass filter. This is a midrange, not a woofer: cut below 80 Hz and let the subwoofer do the bass. Feeding it low notes is the fastest way to damage it.
- Set the gain properly. Clipping kills voice coils far more often than power does.
- Check the opening first. This is an 8"/20 cm frame, not a 6.5": measure the door or kick panel opening before ordering, or plan an adapter ring. It runs to 9 kHz: always pair it with a tweeter.
