The 2026 neodymium 8"/20 cm of the EXTREME line: 98.2 dB, a 49.5 mm (2") CCAW voice coil and a solid aluminium phase plug. Same power as the ferrite SP 8MM, in a motor that is much smaller and lighter — easier to fit behind a door panel. Unit price.

Why this midrange
On the same channel it plays noticeably louder than the best seller line, before you touch the gain. This is the 8" for SPL builds.
The same magnetic force as a big ferrite ring in a much smaller and lighter motor. Bl of 10.9 TM with a fraction of the depth and weight.
49.5 mm of copper-clad aluminium winding: more winding surface, more heat capacity, more minutes at full volume.
Curvilinear fiberglass reinforced paper: the curved profile spreads break-up, so the midrange stays clean when you push it.

Complete the system
Before you install it
- Do not go below 4 ohm per channel. Two speakers in parallel on one channel give 2 ohm: most amplifiers will heat up or go into protection.
- Use a high-pass filter. This is a midrange, not a woofer: cut below 80 Hz and let the subwoofer do the bass. Feeding it low notes is the fastest way to damage it.
- Set the gain properly. Clipping kills voice coils far more often than power does.
- Check the opening first. This is an 8"/20 cm frame, not a 6.5": measure before ordering, or plan an adapter ring. It runs to 9 kHz: always pair it with a tweeter.
