The 2026 neodymium midrange of the EXTREME line: 6.5"/16.5 cm, 98.2 dB, a 38.5 mm (1.5") CCAW voice coil and a solid aluminium phase plug. Same power as the ferrite SP 6MM, in a motor that is a fraction of the size and weight. Unit price.

Why this midrange
The loudest of the 6.5" family. On the same channel it plays noticeably louder than the ferrite models, before you touch the gain.
The same magnetic force as a big ferrite ring in a much smaller and lighter motor. It fits shallow doors, pods and pillars where a ferrite 6.5" does not.
38.5 mm of copper-clad aluminium winding: light enough to stay fast, big enough to take 200 W RMS without complaining.
A solid aluminium plug in the centre of the cone: it keeps the response clean off-axis and pulls heat away from the voice coil.

Complete the system
Before you install it
- Do not go below 4 ohm per channel. Two speakers in parallel on one channel give 2 ohm: most amplifiers will heat up or go into protection.
- Use a high-pass filter. This is a midrange, not a woofer: cut below 80 Hz and let the subwoofer do the bass. Feeding it low notes is the fastest way to damage it.
- Set the gain properly. Clipping kills voice coils far more often than power does.
- Plan the top end. It runs to 10 kHz: pair it with a tweeter for the last octaves, crossed where the tweeter allows.
