SP 6.5CM CX is the coaxial version of our best seller: 6.5"/16.5 cm, 180 W RMS, 96 dB and a 38.5 mm EISV voice coil, with the tweeter built into the centre. One pair covers voices, guitars and cymbals — no separate tweeter, no external crossover. Sold as a pair.

Why the CX version
Coaxial means the tweeter sits in the centre of the midrange: mids and highs leave from the same point. You do not buy a separate tweeter and you do not wire an external crossover.
Same 6.5" frame as the SP 6.5CM, but 180 W RMS continuous and 360 W peak, on a 38.5 mm / 1.75" EISV voice coil that takes the heat.
Sensitivity is what you hear first. At 96 dB a 180 W channel is already a very full front stage inside a car.
165 mm nominal, 4 ohm, 100 Hz - 20 kHz: it replaces the factory speaker in most doors and covers the whole range above the subwoofer on its own.

Complete the system
Before you install it
- Do not go below 4 ohm per channel. Two speakers in parallel on one channel give 2 ohm: most amplifiers will heat up or go into protection.
- Use a high-pass filter. This is a coaxial midrange, not a woofer: cut below 100 Hz and let the subwoofer do the bass. Feeding it low notes is the fastest way to damage it.
- Do not add an external crossover. The tweeter is already inside and already filtered: send the channel straight to the speaker.
- Seal the door panel. A coaxial in an open door loses mid-bass: sound-deaden the panel and you gain more than changing the speaker.
