Why this driver
A neodymium magnet gives the motor force of a much bigger assembly in a fraction of the weight. That is how this driver reaches 112 dB and takes 400 W RMS.
Sensitivity is what makes a horn loud. At 112 dB this driver stays above the midrange and the sub without asking for huge power.
The horn comes in the box, already matched to the 2" throat. No guessing about flare or coupling: it arrives as one working assembly.
The coil measures 2" and is wound in CCAR. That is the part that turns 400 W RMS into pressure and then has to survive it.

Complete the system
Before you install it
- It always needs a crossover. Never full range. A compression driver wired straight to the amplifier does not survive. Use a crossover, or at the very least a capacitor in series.
- Do not cross below 950 Hz. 950 Hz is the lowest frequency this driver is rated for. Going under it, at any power, is the fastest way to tear the diaphragm. The factory recommends 1000 Hz.
- Do not go below 4 ohm per channel. 4 ohm is the minimum load. Two drivers in parallel on one channel give 2 ohm: most amplifiers will heat up or go into protection.
- Aim it, and set the gain low. A horn is directional, so point it at the listener; then bring the level up slowly. Clipping kills compression drivers far more often than power does.
